Be there... even when you can't

Hug Tags are a simple and effective way to
give your children the support they need
to build self-confidence in school and
develop a sense of independence.

What are Hug Tags?

Hug Tags are small patches that parents can write personal messages on for their children. They are then attached to the inside of the child's shirt for encouragement at school if they ever feel alone or anxious.Anytime they need a little “hug”, all they need to do is look under their shirt. We all have bad days. Unfortunately, bad days can be more difficult for children.
They sometimes have a harder time dealing the world outside their home. After all, most of their life they were at home with you.
A new environment, like school, is a sudden change that can be difficult to adjust to.
Hug Tags give parents the ability to show their child that, even though they’re not with them, they are still loved.
That kind of support has been proven to build self-confidence in children. It leads to stronger family bonds, better participation in school, and most importantly, a lifelong sense of confidence and independence.

"My father went in for surgery and I know how scary it can be. He will be alone a lot of the time and I wanted him to know that I was still there even though I wasn't allowed to be. I stuck a message to his hospital gown telling him he is loved."

Start by writing a message of encouragement on your Hug Tag
This should be something positive that will give your child encouragement when they read it.
Be sure to use a pen or marker so the message will last.

To attach your self-adhesive Hug Tag, simply peel-and-stick it directly to your child's clothing for encouragement throughout the day.The adhesive will last a few washes with cotton/poly blend clothing, but not with 100% cotton material. For a longer hold, please use your Iron-On Hug Tags.

To iron your Hug Tag to clothing, simply position your Hug Tag at the bottom of your child's shirt.
Make sure your message is upside down so when they can look down they can read it.
Set your iron to the "wool" settingPress the iron firmly to the backside of the Hug Tag for 10 secondsBe sure to let the Hug Tag cool completely before handling

Self-Confidence and Education

It is no secret that children with high confidence will do better in school.
Most experts will agree that having a high level of confidence, especially
at an early age, can greatly increase a person's all-around potential.
Here are some of the studies:

NCFE: Northern Council for Further Education:

The links between confidence and achieving in educationStudies have shown that learners with higher confidence are more willing to learn, challenge themselves, and have better resilience in the face of difficult transitions like changing schools. In fact, confidence has been quoted as the number one predictor of academic achievement. This is particularly true for core subjects such as English, maths and science, where confidence has long-term, positive effects on learners’ success. These benefits persist through school and college and into university, where learners with high confidence are more likely to attend, continue to achieve, and build a strong sense of belonging with their peers.Confidence is also a big factor in keeping learners engaged with their education and the world around them. We know that by increasing confidence, you’re allowing the learner to believe they have the potential to achieve and reduce their fear of failing. This motivates them to attend school or college regularly, have better focus during classes, and complete coursework and exams to the best of their ability.Ultimately, confidence increases learners’ employability, as it not only gives them a more competitive academic background but also the confidence to apply their knowledge in new situations in the workplace. This is especially important for female-identifying students, who are 50% less likely to consider themselves as highly employable.Increased confidence also combats stress, burnout and depression across different cultures and social groups, benefiting learners across the full spectrum of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. On the whole, we need to be building confidence in all learners to help them reach their full potential in education, but also in their future careers.

All parents have different parenting styles, but all parents have
the same goal; to raise happy, healthy, and confident kids.
